The first day has gone...

E così il primo giorno intero in terra canadese se n'é andato... La prima impressione della città: molto europea. Dopo aver visto in lungo e in largo l'Europa, Vancouver non é molto diversa da una comune cittadina europea. La periferia con molte villette unifamilari, con il loro giardinetto, ovviamente senza recinzione... Downtown: incasinatissima, un traffico bestiale...
I costi: costa tutto la metà dell'Italia.. ovviamente! Fast food messicano, porzioni enormi ma davvero enormi, enchiladas e tacos con mezzo litro di soft drink (non ce l'ho fatta a finirli) 14 CAD... cioe 8 euro..
Ho reincontrato un vecchio amico di Las Palmas.. é bello vedere una faccia amica che se anche non vive a Vancouver mi ha portato un pò in giro. Ritrovarsi da soli..non é così cool..
Ho fatto qualche giro qua e là.. e proprio il primo sono finito nella parte da evitare della città: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downtown_Eastside un concentrato di barboni, prostitute, drogati dalla facce scavate da far paura e ubriachi. Se i problemi non te li cerchi non li trovi, ma comunque non é che sia una gran zona :D
Sono ancora un pò sballato per il fuso orario.. tutta la mattina ero un pò frastornato..ci vorrà qualche giorno..

And so the first whole day into the Canadian land is almost over.. First city impression: really european. After many travels up and down in Europe, Vancouver isn't so different from any other medium European town. The suburbs with a lot of a small houses, with their own garden, without a fence of course... Downtown: a mess.. an hell of a traffic..
What about costs? Half prices than Italy.. obviously! Mexican fast food, huge portions, tacos & enchiladas with a soft drink, 14 dollars, 8 euros.
I met an old Las Palmas friend..it's cool see a friendly face specially the first days. Even if he doesn't live here in Vancouver he brought me around, showing me stuff.. Be on your own isn't so cool sometimes.. I wandered around and rightly on the first day we ended up in the worst part of Vancouver: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downtown_Eastside a concentrate of drug addicteds, prostitutes, homelesses and drunks..U don't get troubles if u don't look for them but anyway isn't a so cool zone.. I'm still a little shaken for the goddamn jet lag..it will lake some day I guess..
Tomorrow I will take a look around for a job.. Keep in touch..
