Time is running here in Vancouver

English is always below Italian

Lui in Australia comprava da Coles, io ho trovato NO FRILLS.

Ecco qualche altra foto, compresa quella del mio primo hot dog canadese al New York Fries : (7.44 $ - 4.5 € hot dog with cheese, regular soft drink and small fries)

ENGLISH

Time is running fast here in downtown Vancouver and almost one week has gone since my arrival.

I’m getting used to everything and seems pretty amazing but I am also almost able to find my way around and who knows me knows that usually I’m a pretty big disaster (right Front, how many times did u save me man!!) By the way it isn’t so hard since practically every street is parallel, names of the streets are written pretty big and public transports are everywhere. I even tried the Skytrain, the Vancouver trademark and some bus too; compared to the Italian ones they are slightly more expensive (2.50 $ - 1.50 €) but always on time. Following the footsteps of someone that preceded me, but down under, (“Albert” that inspired me for this blog and that you can read following one of the links on the right) I found my own discount! He used Coles in OZ, I found NO FRILLS. A real hard discount. Like Italian discount it sells no names products that can cost until 60 % less!! Even go to buy my stuff is an experience abroad; it really reminds me Las Palmas time but without Luighi and all my days in Lithuania. I bought 2 liters of Ice cream, well yes, they sell ice cream liters! 3.99 $! And bacon too! Who knows if I’ll be able to cook it or if I’ll almost set the kitchen on fire like during my Erasmus!Btw, thanks to Google Maps, without I couldn’t survive! It’s really necessary!

Tomorrow I go to make the SIN number and to buy a prepaid phone, without a contract, just to make some local calls. I went already today but the smart guys didn’t publish nowhere that Easter Monday is a public holiday for government offices here in Canada. I’ll probably meet Karin, an Italian girl, here with the WHV too that I knew, virtually, on a Canada forum.

Yesterday, religiously inspired, I visited the Holy Rosary Cathedral, the Vancouver archdiocese cathedral. Pretty small btw.

Here some photos, the one of my first Canadian hot dog by New York Fries too. (7.44 $ - 4.5 € hot dog with cheese, regular soft drink and small fries)

Stay tuned.
